This new permanent exhibition showcases some of science’s greatest achievements, from Ptolemy to Copernicus, Newton to Einstein. Called “Beautiful Science: Ideas that Changed the World,” the exhibition highlights four areas of exploration: astronomy, natural history, medicine, and light.

Garden Talk & Sale: Succulent Wreaths
Dec. 11, Thurs., 2:30 p.m., Friends' Hall
John Trager, curator of desert collections, will demonstrate how to make wreaths from succulents for holiday decoration and year-round enjoyment. A plant sale in the nursery will follow, featuring many succulents suitable for wreath-making. Ffreshly-made wreaths will also be available for purchase. Free. No reservations required.

A “New and Native” Beauty: The Art and Craft of Greene & Greene
The exhibition presents a chronological survey of the Greenes’ lives and careers over a nearly 90-year period. In all, the show features approximately 140 objects from the collections of The Huntington, the Gamble House, and other private and institutional lenders.
